Furniture, fixtures, and finished surfaces go through a lot before they reach the customer: handling at the factory, storage in a warehouse, loading onto a truck, and final delivery. At every one of these stages, even a small scratch, dent, or rub mark can affect how the finished product looks and reduce its resale value.
COMFEX EPE Foam is built to prevent exactly that. Made from expanded polyethylene (EPE), it’s a lightweight, closed-cell foam that protects wooden furniture, laminated boards, glass surfaces, metal parts, decorative panels, and fixtures from scratches, rubbing, and impact, without adding significant weight or bulk to your packaging.
Furniture surfaces (polished wood, laminate, veneer, glass, or painted metal) are especially prone to two kinds of damage during transit:
Ordinary packaging materials like plain paper or thin plastic sheets don’t offer enough cushioning or surface protection for these applications. EPE foam solves both problems at once – it’s soft enough to prevent scratches, yet resilient enough to absorb shock.
1. Full furniture wrapping: Chairs, sofas, tables, and other upholstered or wooden furniture pieces are wrapped completely in EPE foam roll before transit (protecting armrests, legs, and finished surfaces from scratches and rubbing during handling and shipping).
2. Cabinet and wooden furniture wrapping: Cabinets, wardrobes, and modular furniture units are wrapped in EPE foam to shield polished or laminated surfaces.
3. Edge and layer protection for panels and boards: Flat items like laminated boards, wooden panels, and cut sheets are commonly layered or interleaved with EPE foam sheets to prevent surface-to-surface contact damage when stacked.
4. Corner and edge protection for glass, mirrors, and framed items For glass panels, mirrors, and framed items, EPE foam corner protectors and edge guards are used to absorb impact at the most vulnerable points.
Compared to thermocol or bubble wrap, EPE foam:
Whether you need EPE foam rolls for full furniture wrapping, sheets for panel layering, or corner protectors for glass and framed items, COMFEX offers EPE foam in a range of thicknesses and sizes to match your packaging requirement.
